| Requirements The Tax Manager has responsibility for managing the federal and multi-state income and franchise tax compliance function for SAIC and Subsidiaries. This includes the analysis and review of the federal consolidated and state combined income and franchise tax returns, extensions and estimated tax payments. Must be able to manage, motivate and lead a diverse team to achieve results as well as develop technical and leaderships skills within the team.
Additional responsibilities include the research, analysis, interpretation and application of tax laws and principles. The Tax Manager will assist with various state audits and state tax research projects.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Advanced degree (e.g., MBT) and/or CPA designation is a major plus. A minimum of six years of comprehensive corporate tax compliance and research experience involving multi-state operations.
Prior experience with both Big-Four accounting firm and private industry is preferred.
Additional requirements include extensive experience using tax compliance (RIA InSource preferred) and tax research (RIA, BNA) software applications, as well as proficiency with MS Access, Excel and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for extensive interaction with auditors, tax agencies, and other Company personnel. | JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for day-to-day management of all Accounting functions at the corporate office of a public company to insure the accuracy and integrity of the Companys financial reporting and books and records of this publicly-traded company. Managing and leading personnel within general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, stock administration, payroll, fixed assets, consolidations, international operations, revenue recognition and oversight of the treasury function. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all subsidiaries period-end closes, financial reporting, and consolidation with corporate books and records.
Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reports generated for internal and external use.
Directs period-end closings, as well as the preparation of related financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Ensures the Company is implementing relevant accounting pronouncements in a timely and effective manner.
Along with the Director of Accounting, assists with establishing, coordinating and administering the Company's accounting policies and procedures to ensure the protection of Company assets through established internal control systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Big 4 CPA required with a minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience preferably at least 4 years in a public accounting firm and 4 or more years working in a management role (controller-type role) with a large multi-national corporation.
Must have public company and multi-national company experience. Would prefer the candidate to have worked in a manufacturing environment and be familiar with cost accounting principles.
Must be a self-starter.
Strong communication skills-both oral and written. Presentation experience a must. Ability to persuade and influence via presentations to Sr. Mgmt.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
